Congratulations! You’ve seen your name on the admission list. But getting admitted is only the first step. To secure your spot, you must navigate the acceptance fee payment and the online screening (clearance) process.
This guide breaks down exactly what you need to do to avoid common mistakes that cost candidates their admission every year.

1. Acceptance Fee Payment
Once admission is concluded for everyone, the school management will officially announce the acceptance fee payment on the school website and admission portal.
-
Wait for the Announcement: The school will not ask for money until the full admission process is finalized.
-
Deadline Matters: Every payment comes with a strict deadline. If you miss it, your admission may be forfeited.
-
Expert Service: It is highly recommended to seek expert help for this. Many candidates experience “debit without reflection” errors (where money leaves your account but the portal doesn’t update). Using a professional ensures an error-free transaction.
2. Online Screening & Clearance
You cannot proceed to online screening without paying your acceptance fee. This is a digital verification process where you upload your credentials to the portal.
Crucial Warnings for Uploads:
-
Document Clarity: If your O’Level result scan is blurry, the screening officers cannot verify it, and your clearance will be rejected.
-
WAEC Scratch Cards: If you have used up the “trials” on your scratch card, do not upload it. Buy a new card.
-
Pro-Tip: Use the new card to check your result once before uploading. This “links” the card to your specific result, ensuring no one else can use it.
-
-
NECO Tokens: NECO policy is strict: One token per result. If you have exhausted your trials, do not buy a new regular token—it won’t work. You must perform NECO Verification instead (see below).
The NECO Verification Solution
If you’ve used your NECO token too many times, you must:
-
Log into the NECO Verification Portal.
-
Purchase a NECO Verification Token (this is different from a result-checking token).
-
Verify the result and upload the evidence of verification to your school portal.
3. Required Documents for Physical Screening
After your online clearance is successful, you will need to prepare a physical file. Here is the checklist of what you need:
| Document | Format Needed |
| JAMB Admission Letter | Original (Colored) & Photocopies |
| Original JAMB Result | Original (Colored) & Photocopies |
| O’Level Result(s) | Statement of Result or Original Certificate |
| Scratch Card/Token | Physical card or E-verification evidence |
| Birth Certificate | Clear copy or Statutory Declaration of Age |
| State of Origin | Local Government Identification Certificate |
| Acceptance Fee Receipt | Printed from the portal |
| Passport Photographs | At least 8–10 copies |
| Affidavits | Needed ONLY if there are name/date discrepancies |
Note for Direct Entry (DE) Candidates: You must also provide your NYSC Certificate, Exemption Letter, or Call-up Letter along with your HND/Degree certificates.
