If Manipal University Jaipur is a good option for an online MBA, why did I end up choosing Amity University Online instead?

That was one of the questions I kept asking myself when I was comparing online MBA programs. On paper, both universities have a lot going for them. But after looking at the fees, learning format, study materials, support, location, and what I personally wanted from an MBA, I eventually decided that Amity was a better fit for me.

There are fees to compare, admission claims to verify, different LMS platforms to understand, and plenty of opinions online that do not necessarily match your own situation.

Before choosing an online MBA, I think there are a few practical questions that matter more than the university’s name alone: How much will it cost? How flexible is the programme? What kind of support can you realistically expect? And, perhaps most importantly, will the programme fit your work and personal commitments?

I am currently pursuing my Online MBA from Amity University Online, so I have become quite interested in how different universities structure their programmes, handle student support and manage the learning experience. I started looking more closely at IGNOU because it is one of the names that comes up repeatedly whenever students in India discuss affordable and flexible higher education.

In this article, I want to share what I found while researching the IGNOU Online MBA, including its recognition, eligibility, fees, course structure, learning system and some of the practical things I think a prospective student should consider before applying.

If you are considering an Online MBA from Chandigarh University, I would suggest looking beyond the advertised flexibility and fee discounts before you apply. An online MBA can be convenient, but convenience is not the same thing as getting the right programme for your career.

I put this guide together to share what I found useful, what I would pay attention to before enrolling, and where I think prospective students should keep their expectations realistic.

In this edition of the Ivy League Series, we speak with Daniel Jayoba — a Lagos-based attorney who made the uncommon pivot from law into a Harvard MBA.

Daniel is a second-year MBA candidate at Harvard Business School and will graduate next month. Before business school, he spent three years practicing law in Lagos, focusing on banking, finance, and fintech. He worked on loan syndications and helped both startups and venture capital firms structure deals and protect their interests.

He studied law at the University of Lagos and later chose an MBA over the more traditional LL.M. path for lawyers.
