If you have just been admitted to Lagos State University (LASU), one of the first things you will need to understand is how to use the university’s online services. From checking admission information and making payments to completing course registration and accessing results, a large part of the student administration process now happens online.
This guide brings the main LASU portal processes together in one place. I have also included links to LASU’s official platforms so that you can verify important information directly with the university before making a payment or submitting any document.
Before You Start: Use the Official LASU Portals
LASU uses more than one online platform, depending on what you are trying to do. This is important because an application portal, payment portal and course-registration portal are not necessarily the same website.
For that reason, I recommend starting from the official LASU website whenever possible and following the relevant student-service link from there.
LASU’s official online services currently include separate platforms for applications, payments and course registration. The university’s undergraduate FAQ also provides instructions for new students completing course registration. See the LASU undergraduate FAQ.
LASU Admission Requirements
Admission requirements can differ depending on the programme you are applying for, so it is better not to rely on a single general requirement for every course.
For an undergraduate applicant, the relevant O’Level subjects, UTME requirements and any additional programme-specific conditions should be checked against the requirements published by LASU and JAMB for the admission cycle in question.
LASU publishes programme-specific admission information on its website. For example, its undergraduate programme pages provide information about course requirements and grading arrangements. Check LASU’s undergraduate admission information.
Do not assume that a requirement that applied in a previous admission year will automatically remain unchanged. Admission requirements and procedures can be revised from one session to another.
LASU Sandwich Programme
LASU also operates programmes designed for students who need a study arrangement different from the conventional full-time undergraduate route.
The university has a dedicated application platform for Sandwich, Diploma and Certificate programmes. The official application instructions explain how applicants generate an application number, make the required payment and complete the application process.
Visit the official LASU Sandwich/Diploma/Certificate application portal.
How the Sandwich Application Process Works
- Open the official LASU application portal.
- Generate your application number.
- Follow the payment instructions provided on the portal.
- Return to the application platform and enter your application number and surname.
- Complete the application form and provide the requested information.
- Review the information before submitting the application.
- Print or save your application documents for future reference.
The exact programme, payment category and application procedure should be confirmed on the official LASU portal because these details can change.
What Newly Admitted LASU Students Should Do
Once you receive an admission offer, there is usually more to do than simply accept the admission. You will need to complete the relevant clearance and registration requirements before you can fully settle into the academic session.
Keep your important admission documents together, including your JAMB information, O’Level results, admission documents and payment records. Having these documents available makes the registration process much easier.
LASU Admission Clearance
The exact clearance procedure can depend on the programme and admission session. Rather than relying on an old login page or an outdated set of instructions, use the current links provided by LASU.
If you are unsure about your admission status, you should also check your status through JAMB’s Central Admissions Processing System (CAPS). JAMB explains that candidates can use CAPS to check and respond to admission offers. Read JAMB’s information about CAPS.
Matriculation Number and Student Email
Your matriculation number becomes an important identifier during your time at LASU. You may need it when accessing student services, registering courses, checking academic information or communicating with university departments.
Your LASU student email is also important. Keep your login details secure and check the account regularly for official communication.
LASU’s undergraduate FAQ currently provides specific instructions for accessing the result portal and resetting a student’s school email password. See the current LASU undergraduate FAQ.
LASU Portal Registration and Student Services
One thing that can be confusing for new students is the number of different LASU online services. There is not necessarily one portal that handles every student activity.
Depending on your programme, you may use a different LASU platform for application, course registration, payment or academic records.
Before entering your details, check that you are using an official LASU domain and that the page corresponds to the service you are trying to access.
Information You May Need
Depending on the service, you may be asked for some combination of the following:
- JAMB registration number
- Matriculation number
- Application number
- Registered surname or other personal information
- O’Level information
- Valid email address
- Phone number
- Payment or transaction information
Do not upload documents or enter sensitive information into a website simply because it uses the name “LASU.” Always check the domain and, where possible, start from the official LASU website.
LASU Fee Payment
Fees and payment categories can change, so I would not recommend relying on an old article that gives a fixed amount without identifying the academic session.
LASU operates an official electronic payment platform where students and applicants can select the appropriate payment category and generate payment receipts.
Visit the official LASU electronic payment portal.
Things to Check Before Paying
- Confirm that you are using the correct LASU payment platform.
- Confirm the payment category before proceeding.
- Check the amount displayed by the official portal.
- Make sure the matriculation, application or other identifying number you enter is correct.
- Keep your transaction reference after completing payment.
- Generate and save your official receipt where the portal provides that option.
LASU’s payment platform also provides instructions for updating previous payments and generating receipts. If you experience a payment problem, use the contact information displayed on the official payment platform rather than relying on an old third-party contact number.
LASU Course Registration
Course registration is one of the most important things to complete after admission and payment. Your exact registration process may depend on your programme, level and academic session.
LASU’s current undergraduate FAQ provides a useful example of the process for new students. It states that new students should first log in through the new-student course-registration service, complete the main registration form and then continue with the subsequent registration steps, including the required anti-cult form.
Check LASU’s current course-registration instructions.
Before Registering Your Courses
- Make sure your admission and registration requirements have been completed.
- Confirm that the relevant school fees or charges have been paid.
- Check your department’s approved course list.
- Pay attention to compulsory and elective courses.
- Check the correct academic session and semester.
- Keep a copy of your completed registration.
Course Registration Portal
LASU also operates dedicated course-registration platforms for different categories of students. For example, the university has a School of Part-Time Studies course-registration portal and a separate postgraduate course-registration portal.
LASU School of Part-Time Studies Course Registration
LASU Postgraduate Course Registration
If your programme is different from these categories, use the registration link provided by your department or the official LASU website.
LASU Results Portal
After examinations have been processed, students can access their academic results through the relevant LASU result platform.
The login procedure can differ between new students and returning students. LASU’s current undergraduate FAQ specifically explains that new students should use their school email and follow the password-reset process before accessing the result portal.
Because these procedures can change, check LASU’s current instructions rather than following screenshots or login instructions from an old blog post.
LASU Grading System
LASU’s published undergraduate programme information uses the following grading scale:
- A: 70 and above — 5 grade points
- B: 60–69 — 4 grade points
- C: 50–59 — 3 grade points
- D: 45–49 — 2 grade points
- E: 40–44 — 1 grade point
- F: 0–39 — 0 grade points
The university’s published programme information also states that the minimum pass mark is 40%.
For the most accurate interpretation of your result, however, use the regulations applicable to your particular programme and academic session.
Checking LASU Admission Status
If you are waiting for admission, there are two places you should pay attention to: LASU and JAMB.
Check Through JAMB CAPS
JAMB’s Central Admissions Processing System is an important part of the admission process. Candidates can use CAPS to check their admission status and respond to an admission offer when one is available.
JAMB also explains that candidates can check their admission status through CAPS and accept or reject an admission offer where applicable. Read JAMB’s official CAPS information.
Check LASU’s Admission Information
You should also monitor LASU’s official website and the relevant application portal for announcements relating to your programme.
Do not rely solely on social media posts or screenshots shared by other applicants. Admission procedures, deadlines and portal addresses can change.
Resetting a LASU Portal Password
If you cannot remember your password, first look for the password-reset option on the particular LASU service you are using.
Different LASU platforms can have different login systems, so the password for one service may not necessarily work on another.
For example, LASU provides a dedicated password-reset page for its undergraduate course-registration portal.
Open the LASU course-registration password reset page.
If the Password Reset Does Not Work
- Confirm that you are using the correct portal for your programme.
- Check that your matriculation or registration number is entered correctly.
- Try the password-reset process again after confirming your details.
- Check your student email if the system sends reset instructions there.
- Contact LASU through an official support channel if the problem continues.
LASU Acceptance and Medical Screening Fees
Newly admitted students may have acceptance, medical screening and other registration-related payments to complete. However, the amounts and payment categories can change from one admission session to another.
For that reason, I have deliberately not included a fixed acceptance or medical-screening amount here. The safest approach is to check the amount displayed on the official LASU payment portal for your admission session.
Check the official LASU payment portal.
After making a payment, save the transaction details and generate your receipt where the payment system provides that option.
LASU Customer Care and Technical Support
If you have a problem with a LASU portal, payment or registration process, contacting the university directly is usually better than relying on advice from an old forum post or social media comment.
LASU’s official payment platform currently lists support contacts for payment-related problems, while the university’s undergraduate FAQ also provides an email address for student email support.
For general university contact information, use the official LASU contact page.
For payment problems, check the contact information displayed directly on the official LASU e-payment portal.
For student email issues, LASU’s undergraduate FAQ currently lists mailsupport@lasu.edu.ng as the support email for school email password issues.
What to Do When the LASU Portal Is Not Working
Portal problems are frustrating, especially when you are trying to meet a registration deadline. Before assuming that your account is the problem, try a few simple checks:
- Confirm that you are using the correct LASU portal.
- Check whether the university has announced maintenance or a change to the registration process.
- Try another browser or device.
- Clear your browser cache if the page is behaving unexpectedly.
- Check your internet connection.
- Take a screenshot of any error message that appears.
- If payment is involved, keep your transaction ID and payment evidence.
- Contact the appropriate LASU support channel if the problem continues.
Most importantly, avoid paying a third party simply because someone claims they can “fix” your LASU portal account. Use the university’s official payment and support channels.
Important: LASU Portal Instructions Can Change
This is probably the most important point to remember when using an online guide like this one.
LASU periodically changes its portals, registration procedures, payment platforms and student-service links. A URL or instruction that worked for a previous academic session may not be the correct option for a new session.
For example, LASU’s current undergraduate FAQ provides a specific course-registration process for new students, while the university also operates separate platforms for other student categories.
Always compare the information in this guide with the latest announcement from LASU before submitting a form, registering courses or making a payment.

Final Thoughts
The LASU portal is an important part of managing your university administration, but you do not need to memorize every portal address or registration step.
The easier approach is to identify what you are trying to do first—apply for admission, check admission status, make a payment, register courses or check results—and then use the official LASU platform for that particular service.
Keep copies of your admission documents, payment receipts and registration forms. If something goes wrong, these records can make it much easier for the university’s support team to trace the issue.
And finally, treat online guides as a starting point rather than the final authority. LASU can change its procedures, fees and portal addresses, so always verify important information with the university before making a payment or submitting an application.
