KWASU to launch B.Sc taxation program

KWASU plans to begin academic activities on its Osi and Ilesha-Baruba campuses by the start of the next session.

by ajibolaaina March 8, 2022
written by ajibolaaina

The Kwara State Government has authorized the completion of the Osi and Ilesha-Baruba campuses of the Kwara State University (KWASU), in accordance with the statute creating the school.

In order to do this, the state administration has undertaken all necessary provisions to guarantee that operations on the two campuses begin smoothly with the start of the next academic session.

As a result of this initiative, not only will the university be able to better serve the expanding number of students who enroll each year, but it will also provide greater advantages and possibilities for the university and its surrounding communities.

Asked to comment on the state government’s unrelenting efforts to provide adequate facilities for staff and students, Alhaji Sulaiman Obawankasi, the government’s representative on the University’s Council, told our correspondent that plans are in full swing by the state government to have the other two campuses operational and ready for use by the 2022/2023 academic year.

According to the Vice-Chancellor of the University, Professor Muhammed Mustapha Akanbi SAN, the acceptance of the completion of the two campuses by the State Governor, Mallam Abdulrahaman Abdulrazaq, was a source of delight for both the institution’s personnel and students.

After the two additional campuses, Osi and Ilesha-Baruba, are built, the University will have sufficient chance to expose students to yet another set of cutting-edge facilities that will help in the delivery of successful teaching and learning practices in the twenty-first century.

According to the Senior Advocate of Nigeria, contractors have committed to returning to the site on Wednesday, March 9, 2022, and completing the two satellite campuses within the specified time frame of 8 to 10 months, starting on Wednesday, March 9.

The KWASU chairman further revealed that a joint monitoring committee comprised of representatives from the Kwara State Ministry of Tertiary Education and KWASU has been established with the goal of establishing an efficient internal control system at the institution.

The Vice Chancellor also praised the Governor for always being attentive to the goals and desires of KWASU whenever the situation called for it.

‘The approval of the completion of the two campuses, in conjunction with the various ongoing projects that are springing up on the Malete campus, demonstrate clearly that we have a Governor who is concerned about education in the State, knowing fully well that sound and qualitative education is the hallmark of development in all known human societies,’ said the Senior Advocate of Nigeria.

Akanbi promised that the University, under his direction, will continue to justify the government’s massive investment in the school by keeping the flag flying and doing all humanly possible to maintain its heritage as an enviable bastion of learning in the country and throughout the world.
