As a result of the College’s decision to phase out the Environmental Health Assistant (EHA) program, the Academic Board, at its 22nd meeting on December 2, 2021, decided to organize a summer semester examination that will cover all courses of the program, regardless of semester, for all students who have spill over cases, in order to resolve their issues once and for all in the summer of 2021.

The registration cost for each paper is TWO THOUSAND NAIRA (N2000). The tests will begin on Monday, March 21, 2022, and will last for two weeks.

As a result, all interested individuals must register for their course(s) on or by Friday, March 18, 2022, in order to be considered.

Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, Governor of Kano State, has reappointed Professor Muhammad Abdu Wailare as Provost of the Audu Bako College of Agriculture Dambatta.

Ganduje announced this in a press statement issued Monday by Halima Gwarzo, the Public Relations Officer (PRO) for the Office of the Commissioner for Higher Education in Kano.

The Governor also confirmed the appointments of Deputy Provost Rabiu Ado Musa, Bursar Anas Ibrahim Dansarai, College Librarian Bayero Sidi Dangoro, and Academic Planning Unit Director Dr Sani Haruna.

The nominations were made in recognition of their skill, demonstrated honesty, and academic credentials, the statement said.

Ganduje urged the newly appointed officials to engage closely with all sectors of the institution, including academics, non-academics, students, and other groups.

Until then, all appointments were immediate.

According to Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, the Registrar of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, there will be no extension of the registration deadline for applicants taking part in the 2022 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination on Friday, March 4. (UTME).

When Oloyede was overseeing the registration process in several places around Lagos State when he made the announcement.. It was reported that the board has received reports of an easy and stress-free registration procedure two weeks after it the commencement of registration, and that there may not be a need for an extension.

The registration period for the UTME began on Saturday, February 19, and will expire on March 26, 2022, both days being Saturdays.

The College administration is using this medium to remind all students who are enrolled in one or more programs that the second term of the 2021/2022 Academic Session will begin today, Sunday, March 6, 2022, for boarding students, and the first day of classes for non-boarding students will be Monday, March 7, 2022, for boarding students.

Furthermore, students in the Medical Laboratory, Pharmacy, and Dispensing Opticianry (DOP) departments should set their minds at ease and return completely to their respective departments for the resumption of their lectures, if they have not already done so.

Finally, the administration extends best wishes to all of our boarding students on their voyage.

PROCESS OF APPLICATION

The Online Application period for 2022/2023 began on March 1, 2022 and will conclude on May 31, 2022.

The Management of Kano State Polytechnic has instructed that all students of the institution embark on a mid-semester break that will begin on Monday, March 7th, 2022 and end on Sunday, March 13th, 2022. The break will last for three days.

Normal school activities will be resumed on Monday, March 14, 2022, as previously scheduled.

While wishing the students the best of success, the Rector, Dr. Kabir Bello Dungurawa, encouraged them to make the most of their vacation.

This is to notify graduates of the aforementioned programs who attended the 5th – 13th Combined Convocation event in March 2021 that their certificates for the three (3) programs are now available for collection.

Graduands are urged to make themselves available for collection in this respect.

However, the collecting mechanisms, as stated in the Registrar’s previous circular for the 5th – 13th Combined Convocation Ceremony, remain unaltered.

Professor Ishaq Oloyede, the Registrar of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), has revealed that the board has so far registered over 500,000 applicants for the 2022 UTME, with plans to register at least 1.5 million students by March 26, the deadline for candidate registration.

To achieve this, Oloyede stated that the board intends to register at least 50,000 candidates per day, noting that JAMB had already registered about 70,000 candidates two days ago.

After supervising the drill in Bwari and Dutse on the outskirts of Abuja on Thursday, he announced it in Abuja.

The Registrar also cautioned candidates against disclosing their codes to third parties, warning that fraudsters could use them to modify their accounts to their own benefit. He also asked non-candidates to stay away from registration centers during the exercise, and parents to let their children read and follow the registration instructions.

He went on to say that the registration process had been mainly successful, and that 99 percent of the problems applicants had were self-inflicted as a result of playing into the hands of scammers.

Earlier this month, the Federal House of Representatives rejected a measure sponsored by Sergius Ogun (PDP, Ogun), which aimed to restrict children of public office holders from attending school abroad without prior approval from the Minister of Education.

The bill, which had been introduced for the first time in the 8th Assembly, was also opposed by a majority of lawmakers at that session.

Among other things, the law requires that officers produce proof of their capacity to pay the school fees of their children before the procedure can begin, such as a bank statement of account, a salary payslip, and a declaration of assets form, among other things.

Additional penalties of N1 million or three years imprisonment were introduced in the legislation in the event of a violation of the laws.

A second proposal by Sergius, to make it mandatory for public officials to undergo medical care in Nigerian hospitals, was rejected as well, with Lawmakers alleging that it infringed their fundamental rights to health care.
