Understanding the Manipal Group Structure
MAHE is situated in Manipal, which is in Karnataka. It includes several other institutions, such as campuses in Bangalore, Mangalore, and Dubai. However, Sikkim Manipal University and Manipal University Jaipur are both independent universities.
While all three fall under the broader Manipal Group umbrella, they are three independent universities. The MAHE we are discussing here provides more of a flagship product. Consequently, its value is generally considered higher among these three universities. While all three provide Online MBAs, there is a very big difference in their prices.

Is MAHE Online MBA Truly Worth It?
Imagine you are doing a full-time job. You want a promotion and salary growth, but you don’t have time to go to a regular college. Then, you Google “Online MBA” and you see that Manipal Academy of Higher Education is providing an Online MBA.
Then the question arises: is this Online MBA truly worth it, or is it just marketing?
In today’s blog post, I will honestly tell you about its fees, eligibility, syllabus, placements, and who should take it and who should not.
1. Trust and Accreditations
First, let’s talk about trust. Manipal is not a new name. They have been producing doctors, engineers, and managers for decades.
MAHE holds an NAAC A++ accreditation. It is AICTE approved and UGC approved. In simple language, this means the degree is legal, valid, and acceptable in Indian corporates.
Understand one important thing: this is for people who are already working, doing business, or upgrading skills for the future. It does not lock you inside a classroom; it fits around your life.
2. The Fees
Now comes the most sensitive matter: the fees. The total fees are approximately ₹2.92 Lakh for 2 years.
This might sound a bit high, but let’s break it down. You can make payments semester-wise. You have EMI options available, which work out to approximately ₹12,000 a month, and you can find No Cost EMI options within this. In short, it will cost about as much as a mid-range phone EMI, and you will get an MBA degree.
3. Eligibility
There is no pressure from CAT, MAT, or XAT scores here. The eligibility is simple: you should have 50% marks in graduation. If you are a working professional, that is even better. This means that even if you are an average student like me, the doors are open for you.
4. Specializations and Syllabus
An MBA is only useful when the syllabus is practical, and this part is very important. You can choose any specialization from those available, including:
Marketing
Finance
HR
Business Analytics
Data Science
Operations
Healthcare Management
Your classes are completely online and live. However, if you miss a class and cannot join, you get recorded lectures. You can watch them whenever you want. Joining live lectures is not mandatory.
However, to speak the truth, if you are not a self-disciplined person, an Online MBA can be a bit tough for you. Here, most teachers will not pressure you to do the work. They will inform you, but no one is going to prressurize you.
5. Placements
Everyone asks the placement question. This college does not give a placement guarantee.
However, you certainly get placement support. They provide resume building, interview preparation, and access to a job portal where different companies come, and you can apply for jobs from there. Hiring drives happen occasionally, in which you can participate.
Ultimately, selection depends on your skills. No university, even an IIM, will guarantee that you will definitely get a job. It obviously depends on your interview—how you clear the interview—and how many skills you possess.
Pros and Cons
Let’s talk about the good points and bad points.
Pros:
Manipal is a trusted brand.
It is flexible for working professionals.
Multiple specializations are available.
It is a legal, authorized, recognized degree with a very good brand name.
Cons:
Networking and Campus Life: This is the biggest con in my opinion. Some people want to experience campus life, especially freshers. Here, there is no campus life. You might visit the campus once or twice in between, but obviously, you cannot do much networking there. You can do online networking, but not the classroom-style networking.
Self-Motivation is Necessary: You must have the motivation within you that you want to do this. No one will run after you to complete the course.
No Traditional “MBA Feel”: You won’t get that traditional MBA vibe. Since you are already working professionals with experience and skills, you are already capable of cracking jobs and interviews. No one here will pressurize you to do things under the threat that you won’t get a job otherwise. Therefore, you won’t get that traditional IIM or college feel.
Final Verdict: Who Should Enroll?
Finally, who should take this and who should not?
You should enroll if:
You are a working professional.
You want an MBA along with your job.
You want a career switch, promotion, etc.
You should NOT enroll if:
You only want the tag: If you just want an “MBA tag” next to your name, don’t take this. There are cheaper MBAs available; do those. Why waste money unnecessarily here? Because here, you will actually have to work hard as well.
You want campus life and hostel experience: People who want to live the campus life or hostel feel should not take this. You will not get that feel here.
This program is purely for knowledge. If you are a knowledge seeker and are practical, this MBA can definitely create value for you.
