Hi everyone! My name is Muskan. I am currently pursuing an Online MBA from Lovely Professional University (LPU). When I was looking for admission, I was incredibly confused. Information about online degrees is often scattered, and you won’t find a detailed “step-by-step” guide easily on YouTube or Google.
Today, I’m sharing my personal journey to clear up the confusion regarding the admission process, eligibility, fees, and how classes actually work.

What is LPU Online MBA?
LPU Online offers a 2-year MBA program (sometimes referred to as PGDM by some). While I initially considered an Executive MBA (which is a 1-year fast-track program), I chose the standard 2-year route.
Program Overview & Accreditations
An MBA (which some call PGDM) is a 2-year course. If you choose the Executive MBA, it’s 1 year, but I am doing the standard 2-year program.
The most important thing for an online degree is its validity. LPU’s online programs are fully recognized by:
-
UGC-DEB (Distance Education Bureau) – This is the most critical approval for any online degree in India.
Global Accreditations
One of the main reasons I chose LPU is its credibility. The degree is recognized and accredited by:
-
UGC (University Grants Commission)
-
AIU (Association of Indian Universities)
-
AICTE (All India Council for Technical Education)
The Admission Process & Eligibility
The process is entirely online. Here is what you need to know:
1. Registration
The registration fee is ₹600. Please note that this is non-refundable. If you decide to change colleges later, you will not get this money back.
Important Tip: When filling out your application, double-check your email address. Your entire Learning Management System (LMS) and college portal access details will be sent to that email.
The process is entirely online through the LPU Online Official Portal.
-
Registration Fee: I paid ₹600 for registration. Keep in mind this is non-refundable.
-
The LMS Portal: When filling out your form, make sure your email address is 100% correct. Your college portal (LMS), where you will attend classes and find all your study materials, is linked to that email.
2. Eligibility Criteria
-
Education: A 3-year graduation degree in any stream (Arts, Science, Commerce—it doesn’t matter!).
-
Marks: There is no strict minimum percentage (like 40% or 50%) mentioned; you are eligible regardless of your graduation score.
-
Age & Experience: There are no age restrictions and no mandatory work experience required. However, having work experience can enhance your professional profile.
-
Final Year Students: If you are in your 3rd year of graduation, you can still apply!
3. Documents Required
-
Aadhar Card & PAN Card
-
10th & 12th Marksheets
-
Graduation Marksheet (very important)
Fees and Avoiding Scams
The total fee for the 2-year online MBA is approximately ₹1,44,000 – ₹1,46,000.
I was very worried about online scams and the constant spam calls from counselors once you drop your number on websites. I personally got help from College Daddy. They guided me 1-on-1 via Google Meet, solved all my queries for free, and helped me get some good offers. If you want to avoid the headache of multiple counselor calls, I’ll leave their contact info in the description.
How Classes and Exams Work
Since I am a working professional, the “Online” format is a lifesaver for me.
-
LMS (Learning Management System): Everything happens on the LPU portal or the mobile app. You can attend classes from anywhere.
-
Schedule: Classes are held on Saturdays and Sundays.
-
Attendance: There is no strict attendance pressure like offline colleges.
-
Recorded Lectures: If you miss a live session with the LPU professors, you can watch the recorded version whenever you have time.
-
Faculty: You are taught by the same experienced LPU professors who teach the offline students.
Placements and Internships
LPU has a solid placement record even for online students. Around 50 to 70 companies visit, including big names like:
-
Paytm
-
Amazon
-
Wipro
My Advice: MBA is all about building connections. Don’t just sit back—participate in groups and projects. Most importantly, focus on internships. They are the key to landing a job quickly after your degree.
Final Verdict
There is a big difference between LPU’s offline and online services. While some people have mixed reviews about the offline campus service, my experience with the Online MBA has been very smooth and genuine.
If you are a working professional looking to upgrade your resume, this is a great path to pursue.
Which college should I review next? Let me know in the comments!
