Around 30 of Veritas University’s 331 graduating students in Bwari, Abuja, will be awarded first class during the institution’s tenth convocation ceremony.

Prof. Hyacinth Ichoku, Vice Chancellor, who announced this in Abuja, said the 30 graduands had distinguished themselves in terms of both quality and performance.

Ichoku reports that 60 of the 331 graduates are in the postgraduate class, 151 are in the second class higher, 130 are in the second class lower, and 20 are in the third class.

The vice chancellor stated that the school has contacted several embassies throughout the country in an attempt to establish language classes at the university to enable students to acquire vital languages that will facilitate communication.

“We have written to embassies and received favorable responses; we are hopeful that we will be able to start a language course in the near future where individuals can come and study vital languages,” he explained.

According to him, the university currently offers over 32 undergraduate and over 18 graduate programs through its faculties of education, administration, humanism, social sciences, engineering, natural and applied science, and law.

He noted that the school is developing new programs and is awaiting clearance from the National University Commission’s (NUC) sub-verification team before beginning admissions to the colleges of pharmacy, medicine, and medical laboratory science.

The vice chancellor added that the school was also relying on the verification team to approve PhD programs in English and literary studies, accounting and mass communication, as well as a master’s degree in counseling.

JAMB changes exam dates for 2022

by ajibolaaina February 1, 2022
written by ajibolaaina

JAMB has made a change to the previously declared date for the 2022 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Exam (UTME). Exams for 2022, which were supposed to be held between April 20th and April 30th, have been moved to May 6th through May 16.

This was in the weekly bulletin from the JAMB. The board said that the change was made to deal with some problems.

JAMB changes the exam dates for 2022 so that more code can be used to make new profiles.

The board also said that the Mock-UTME exercise that was supposed to be held on April 2, 2022, will now be held on April 16, 2022, for candidates who register early and say they want to take the Mock-UTME.

This is not the time to soft-pedal your preparation for the 2022 UTME, so don’t do that. The best time to start preparing is right now, so don’t wait. If you haven’t already, get the JAMB CBT Mobile app and the JAMB CBT software. The app will also let you know right away if JAMB makes a big change that you need to know about.

The start date for the sale of the 2022 UTME/DE application document, which had been set for 12th February to 19th March 2022, hasn’t changed.

JAMB also said that a new USSD code will be made available, in addition to the already existing 55019 code that lets candidates use some of JAMB’s services, like making a profile code for UTME/DE registration. This was done to make sure there was no congestion during registration when many candidates would be asking for their profile codes to be made.

NABTEB results are accepted – JAMB

by ajibolaaina February 1, 2022
written by ajibolaaina

The Joint Admissions and Matriculations Board (JAMB) has stated that the National Business and Technical Examinations Board’s (NABTEB) Certificates, namely the National Technical Certificate (NTC), the Advanced National Technical Certificate (ANTC), the National Business Certificate (NBC), the Advanced National Business Certificate (ANBC), and the Modular Trade Certificate (MTC), are valid, recognized, and accepted by JAMB for the purpose of admission.

However, in the declaration published on the 1st and 8th pages of the JAMB Bulletin, Volume 2, No. 61, on the 31st of January, 2022, it was stated that the NABTEB Advanced General Certificate in Education (NAGCE) is not recognized, approved, or recognized by law.

According to the Bulletin, a publication of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board’s Office of the Registrar, the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board is obligated to publish this explanation to allay any questions about what constitutes appropriate behavior.

Additionally, it added that the Board (JAMB) urges students who possess the required NABTEB and other recognized bodies certification to follow their admission ambitions without hindrance.

UNICROSS (CRUTECH) Admission List for 2026/2027 Session Released

by ajibolaaina January 29, 2022
written by ajibolaaina

The management of the University of Cross River State (UNICROSS)—formerly known as the Cross River University of Technology (CRUTECH)—has officially released the Primary Admission List for the 2026/2027 Academic Session.

This update is for all UTME and Direct Entry (DE) applicants who participated in the online screening exercise held earlier this year. Successful candidates are encouraged to verify their names on the JAMB Central Admissions Processing System (CAPS) to secure their provisional admission.

How to Check Your UNICROSS Admission Status

In 2026, the admission process remains highly digitized. Follow these steps to confirm your status:

  1. Access the JAMB Portal: Visit the JAMB e-Facility Portal and log in with your registered email address and password.

  2. Confirm Status: Locate and click on “Check Admission Status.”

  3. Access CAPS: Click on the “Access my CAPS” button to open your individual admission dashboard.

  4. View Status: Select “Admission Status” from the left-hand menu.

What to Do After Being Admitted:

  • Accept Admission: If you have been offered your desired course, click “ACCEPT”.

  • Print Documents: After accepting, proceed to print your official JAMB Admission Letter and your Result Slip. These are mandatory for physical clearance on campus.

  • If Still “In Progress”: Candidates whose status shows “Admission Still in Progress” are urged to check back frequently, as subsequent batches are uploaded daily.

Next Steps: Registration and Clearance

Once you have accepted your offer on CAPS, you must complete the internal UNICROSS registration within two (2) weeks of the offer date to avoid forfeiture.

1. Acceptance Fee Payment

Newly admitted students are required to pay a non-refundable Acceptance Fee of ₦25,000. This payment is made via the UNICROSS Student Portal using a Remita Retrieval Reference (RRR) generated on the site.

2. School Fees and Financial Aid (NELFUND)

For the 2026 session, school fees are structured by indigene status:

  • Indigenes: ~₦83,380

  • Non-Indigenes: ~₦98,380

Crucial Note for 2026: If you require financial assistance, UNICROSS is fully integrated into the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND). Admitted students can now apply for zero-interest loans to cover their institutional charges and upkeep.

3. Mandatory Matriculation Fee

All Year One students must pay a mandatory Matriculation Fee of ₦10,000 through the Sundry Charges Portal before they can proceed with course registration.

Important Warning on O’Level Uploads

Admission CANNOT be granted to candidates who have not uploaded their O’Level results (WAEC/NECO/NABTEB) to the JAMB portal. If your status remains “Not Admitted” despite high scores, visit a JAMB-accredited CBT center immediately to upload your results.

Congratulations to all successfully admitted students of the 2026/2027 Class!

Would you like me to help you draft a checklist of the specific documents you need to carry for your physical clearance at the Calabar or Ogoja campuses?
