UNILORIN 2026/2027 Admission List: Provisional Offers for Undergraduate Programmes

by ajibolaaina January 28, 2022
written by ajibolaaina

The management of the University of Ilorin (UNILORIN), the “Better by Far” university, has officially released the Primary Admission List for the 2026/2027 Academic Session. This list includes candidates who participated in the 2026 Post-UTME screening and met the required aggregate cut-off marks for their respective programmes.

How to Check Your Admission Status (2026 Guide)

In 2026, all federal admissions must be formally accepted through the JAMB Central Admissions Processing System (CAPS). Follow these steps to verify your offer:

  1. Visit the Portal: Go to the official JAMB e-Facility Portal.

  2. Login: Enter your registered email address and password.

  3. Confirm Status: Locate and click on “Check Admission Status.”

  4. Access CAPS: Select your examination year (2026) and click on the “Access my CAPS” button.

  5. Accept/Reject: Click on “Admission Status” on the left sidebar. If you have been offered admission, click “ACCEPT” to secure your slot.

Important Note: Clicking “REJECT” will permanently decline the offer, and your slot will be reassigned to another candidate.

Mandatory Next Steps for Admitted Candidates

1. Print Official Admission Letters

Once you have accepted the offer on CAPS, proceed to print your official JAMB Admission Letter. Afterward, visit the UNILORIN Undergraduate Portal to print your institutional admission letter and clearance schedule.

2. Pay the Acceptance Fee

For the 2026/2027 session, the non-refundable acceptance fee is ₦25,000.

  • Log in to the UNILORIN portal using your JAMB Registration Number and Surname.

  • Generate a Remita Retrieval Reference (RRR) and make your payment online or at any commercial bank.

  • Deadline: You are required to complete this payment within two weeks of the admission release to avoid forfeiture.

3. Financial Aid: NELFUND Student Loan

Under the 2024 Higher Education Act, UNILORIN students are eligible for the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND).

  • You can apply for zero-interest loans to cover your institutional charges and monthly upkeep.

  • Tip: Ensure your NIN is correctly linked to your profile to speed up the application process.

4. Physical Clearance and Document Upload

Report to your respective Faculty Office for physical verification. You must present:

  • Original and photocopies of O’Level results (ensure these were uploaded to JAMB CAPS).

  • JAMB Admission Letter and Result Slip.

  • Birth Certificate and Certificate of Origin.

  • Evidence of Acceptance Fee payment.

Important Caveats

  • O’Level Verification: Admission is strictly provisional. If it is discovered at any time that your O’Level results were falsified or do not meet the departmental requirements, your admission will be withdrawn immediately.

  • School Fees: UNILORIN recently updated its fee structure. Freshers in Science-based programmes can expect to pay approximately ₦260,000 – ₦390,000 (depending on the course) for the full session.

Congratulations to the newly admitted students of the 2026/2027 Class!
