Edo State Polytechnic, Usen, is a state-owned institution founded in 2002 by the then governor of Edo State, Chief (Dr.) Lucky Nosakhare Igbinedion.

Located in the Usen community in Edo State, Edo State Polytechnic was formerly called Edo State Institute of Technology and Management. The institution’s name was changed to Edo State Polytechnic, Usen, in 2019.

Programmes offered in the polytechnic have been accredited by the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE). In 2017, it was ranked as the second best polytechnic in the country.

Following a directive by the Federal Government of Nigeria that schools resume on the 18th of January, Edo State Polytechnic was scheduled to resume on the said date.

However, the governor of Edo State, Godwin Obaseki, announced through his Twitter page, that school resumption should be suspended due to the surge in the rate of COVID-19 cases. No specific date has been announced.

Osun State Polytechnic, Iree, popularly known as OSPOLY, is an institution of higher learning formerly a satellite campus of The Polytechnic, Ibadan.

  • Candidates will not be admitted into a programme, different from what they studied in their ND programmes.

Gateway Polytechnic Admission

To be considered for admission into Gateway Polytechnic, prospective applicants should meet the following requirements:

  • Candidates should not be less than 16 years in the admission year.
  • Candidates must have sat for UTME and met the cut off mark (a minimum of 120 in UTME).
  • Candidates should possess at least 5 credit passes in relevant subjects (including English Language and Mathematics) at O’ Level. This must be obtained at not more than two sittings.
  • Candidates should have chosen Gateway Polytechnic as a first, second, or third choice in JAMB. Candidates who did not choose GAPOSA as their choice of institution can change the institution as their preferred choice.
  • Candidates should have written the right combination of subjects in UTME.

The Post UTME is open to all candidates who wrote the 2020 JAMB UTME and met the cut off mark.

To apply for the Post UTME form, candidates should follow the steps below:

  • Visit the admission portal: http://onlineappsaapade.gaposa.edu.ng/OnlineApp/
  • Select ‘Fresh Application.’
  • Complete the Basic Details Form.
  • Click ‘Continue.’
  • Click on ‘Pay Now’ if you are ready to make payment. If you are not, click on ‘Save & Exit.’
  • Make a payment.
  • Return to the online application portal. Login and fill the Detailed Application Form.
  • Input your Application Number as Username and Surname as password.
  • Complete all required information.
  • Input your O’ Level result(s).
  • To save your information, click ‘Submit.’
  • Print the Detailed Application Form.

  • Read the instruction before proceeding to log in.
  • After reading the instruction, click on proceed to login.
  • Fill in your ‘UTME No’ as username and ‘password’ as your default password.
  • Complete the short bio-data.
  • Upload passport photograph with size not more than 20kb. It should also have a red background.

  • Click on the payment button to pay the Post UTME screening fee of N2,000. Generate RRR and click to pay online or to proceed to the bank.
  • After payment is made, print the registration slip. It must be coloured.
  • Take the registration long with you when coming for screening.

The management is yet to release the polytechnic’s resumption date. The federal government has issued a statement, instructing institutions in Nigeria to halt academic activities due to the second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic.
