The Oyo state police command has detained policemen suspected of being involved in the shooting death of Samuel Akinsuyi, a student at Adeseun Ogundoyin Polytechnic, Eruwa.

In a stop-and-search incident that occurred on his way from Eruwa to Ibadan, the student from the Department of Business Administration was allegedly shot in the leg by a police officer. The event sparked widespread outrage, with the Nigerian students’ group asking for the officer’s arrest.

It has been verified by the state police spokesman, DSP Adewale Osifeso, that the Commissioner of Police in the state, Ngozi Onadeko, has ordered an inquiry into the events that led to the regrettable tragedy.

According to Osifeso,

Debriefing and orderly room trials for all of the operators engaged have been completed, and they are now in the process of being identified and captured.”

Accordingly, the Commissioner of the Police is urging calm and reaffirming the promises of a thorough and careful investigation with appropriate punishments in compliance with applicable laws and legislation.”

This is to notify all interested and qualified applicants that the Post-UTME Screening Exercise for Admission into the following NBTE certified ND Programmes at Delta State Polytechnic, Ogwashi-uku for the 2021/2022 Academic Session will take place as specified below.

Requirements

Candidates that selected Delta State Polytechnic Ogwashi-uku as their first or second option and achieved a score of 100 or above in the 2021 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination

Candidates who did not initially pick Delta State Polytechnic, Ogwashi-uku but who now desire to be considered for admission and scored 100 or higher in the 2021 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME). Only those who participated in the UTME in 2021 are eligible to apply.

Candidates must have obtained at least Five (5) Credit Passes in SSCE (WAEC & NECO), GCE O’Level, NABTEB or its equivalent in relevant disciplines, including English Language and Mathematics, in not more than two (2) Sittings in order to be considered for admission.

Screening Procedure

In accordance with their qualifying admission requirements, all Candidates will be subjected to a physical and online screening process. The deadline for submission of applications is Thursday, March 31, 2022.

Note: All candidates should double-check their SSCE results and Result Checkers cards to confirm that they have been appropriately entered.

This is to inform potential students of The Oke ogun Polytechnic Saki that an Admission Screening Exercise for the category of students referred to above will be place on Tuesday, March 15th, 2022 at 10 a.m.

The second screening exercise should include any applicants on the PR list who have not yet shown up for the initial screening session.

Candidates who are concerned should take notice of this information and act accordingly.

The Continuing Education Centre (CEC) of the Federal Polytechnic, Nekede, Owerri, therefore invites qualified applicants who wish to be accepted into the Professional Diploma in Education (PDE) Programme conducted by the Centre with the permission of the Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN) to complete the application form for the class of 2022.

Professors without prior teaching experience can benefit from this program by receiving necessary training in Education and afterwards being certified in their field of specialization. In today’s changing world, obtaining a Professional Diploma in Education is the best approach to remain competitive and current in your field.

The selected candidates will be instructed by resource individuals who are well-versed in their fields of expertise. The Center is equipped with sufficient infrastructural resources to provide successful teaching and learning.

There will be one academic session dedicated to professional training, which will take place outside of the regular academic calendar of the Federal Polytechnic, Nekede.

THOSE WHO ARE ELIGIBLE TO APPLY

• Holders of an HND, a B.A., a B.Sc., an M.Sc., or a Ph.D., or their equivalents, who choose to pursue a teaching certification. Interested applicants may go to the Polytechnic Nekede Owerri website at: www.fpno.edu.ng to learn more about the program.
• The Admission form may be received by making a payment of N10,500:00 into the Continuing Education Centre (CEC) Account Number 1100040095, Federal Polytechnic, Nekede Owerri Microfinance Bank.

EXAMINATIONS FOR PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS (PQE)

This course is offered by the Continuing Education Center for instructors and prospective teachers who have not yet earned their teaching certification after completing the program.

Please keep in mind that the PQE qualifies you to apply for and get a certificate and license from the Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN).
