The management of the University of Cross River State (UNICROSS)—formerly known as the Cross River University of Technology (CRUTECH)—has officially released the Primary Admission List for the 2026/2027 Academic Session.
This update is for all UTME and Direct Entry (DE) applicants who participated in the online screening exercise held earlier this year. Successful candidates are encouraged to verify their names on the JAMB Central Admissions Processing System (CAPS) to secure their provisional admission.
How to Check Your UNICROSS Admission Status
In 2026, the admission process remains highly digitized. Follow these steps to confirm your status:
-
Access the JAMB Portal: Visit the JAMB e-Facility Portal and log in with your registered email address and password.
-
Confirm Status: Locate and click on “Check Admission Status.”
-
Access CAPS: Click on the “Access my CAPS” button to open your individual admission dashboard.
-
View Status: Select “Admission Status” from the left-hand menu.
What to Do After Being Admitted:
-
Accept Admission: If you have been offered your desired course, click “ACCEPT”.
-
Print Documents: After accepting, proceed to print your official JAMB Admission Letter and your Result Slip. These are mandatory for physical clearance on campus.
-
If Still “In Progress”: Candidates whose status shows “Admission Still in Progress” are urged to check back frequently, as subsequent batches are uploaded daily.
Next Steps: Registration and Clearance
Once you have accepted your offer on CAPS, you must complete the internal UNICROSS registration within two (2) weeks of the offer date to avoid forfeiture.
1. Acceptance Fee Payment
Newly admitted students are required to pay a non-refundable Acceptance Fee of ₦25,000. This payment is made via the UNICROSS Student Portal using a Remita Retrieval Reference (RRR) generated on the site.
2. School Fees and Financial Aid (NELFUND)
For the 2026 session, school fees are structured by indigene status:
-
Indigenes: ~₦83,380
-
Non-Indigenes: ~₦98,380
Crucial Note for 2026: If you require financial assistance, UNICROSS is fully integrated into the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND). Admitted students can now apply for zero-interest loans to cover their institutional charges and upkeep.
3. Mandatory Matriculation Fee
All Year One students must pay a mandatory Matriculation Fee of ₦10,000 through the Sundry Charges Portal before they can proceed with course registration.
Important Warning on O’Level Uploads
Admission CANNOT be granted to candidates who have not uploaded their O’Level results (WAEC/NECO/NABTEB) to the JAMB portal. If your status remains “Not Admitted” despite high scores, visit a JAMB-accredited CBT center immediately to upload your results.
Congratulations to all successfully admitted students of the 2026/2027 Class!
